How Claim Credits Work in XactaClaim
A clear explanation of XactaClaim claim credits: one credit opens one new claim file, how Solo Trial differs from Pro and Premium, and how booster packs and extra seats relate to billing.
The simple rule: one credit, one new claim file
In XactaClaim, one claim credit creates one new claim file. Credits control how many new files you can open — not how many documents you attach, how many tasks you create, or how many AI-assisted review sessions you run on existing claims. That separation matters when you are comparing plans or deciding whether to buy a booster pack.
What claim credits do not control
Credits are about claim-file capacity. They do not unlock Premium-only features on a lower tier, replace a Pro or Premium subscription, or increase fair-use allowances for AI, messaging, uploads, or automation. Booster packs add claim credits only. Extra seats add workspace user capacity only — they do not add claim credits. If you need estimate comparison, demand drafting, or other Premium workflows, that comes from your plan tier, not from buying more credits alone.
Solo Trial: start with one claim file
Solo Trial includes one claim credit — enough to open one new claim file and explore the core workspace. Existing claims stay accessible after cancellation, but Solo Trial is limited to one claim file total. Solo is a practical way to test intake, document organization, internal notes, and basic workflow before you commit to a paid plan. See current plan details on Pricing.
Pro and Premium: credits each billing cycle
Active Pro and Premium subscriptions add claim credits each billing cycle while billing remains active. Pro includes 25 claim credits per billing cycle. Premium includes 75 claim credits per billing cycle. Those credits accumulate for opening new files — they are not consumed when you run Policy Review, Claim Copilot, Morning Brief, or other assistive tools on claims you already opened.
Choosing Pro vs Premium beyond credits
Credit volume is only part of the decision. Pro fits teams that need AI-assisted policy and photo review, Claim Copilot, Morning Brief, communications when configured, and the mobile companion. Premium adds estimate comparison, demand support, export workflows, portal branding, and more seats — workflows that matter when scope reconciliation and team scale are daily work. If estimate comparison is central to your practice, read Estimate Comparison: Scope Gaps before you choose.
Booster packs: extra credits without changing tier
Booster packs are a one-time purchase that adds 10 claim credits. They are available to active Pro and Premium workspaces only — not Solo Trial. Boosters add claim credits only; they do not unlock plan features or raise fair-use limits. They are useful when you have a busy month of new intakes but do not need to change your subscription tier.
Extra seats: team capacity, not credits
Extra seats let more staff users access the workspace on Pro or Premium. Seats are about who can log in and collaborate — they do not add claim credits. If your bottleneck is people rather than new file volume, extra seats solve a different problem than booster credits.
Fair-use is separate from claim credits
AI-assisted review, messaging, voice intake when configured, uploads, and automation are subject to fair-use limits that are independent of claim credits. Buying booster credits or adding seats does not increase those allowances. Teams with heavy AI or messaging volume should monitor usage in Billing and review the fair-use notes on Pricing and in Terms.
Practical budgeting checklist
- Count how many new claim files you open per month — not how many are active.
- Note seasonal spikes; booster packs can cover a surge without upgrading tier.
- Match plan tier to workflow depth (estimate comparison, export, team seats).
- Keep fair-use in mind for AI and messaging — credits do not replace those limits.
- Confirm current allowances on Pricing before you commit; entitlements can change.
